This Week in the Studio - 4.14.2016

This morning I woke early. I often don't get right up in the morning and let ideas and thoughts and colors meander through my mind. I thought it might be good to let you know what we are up to in the studio right now.

Sojourn

We are in preparation mode for Maryland Sheep and Wool.  We have been preparing for a while. We have yarn dyed and skeined and labeled and boxed, waiting to go to the show, but we have much to do yet. After filling many orders in the last couple of weeks for the beautiful projects that Melanie Berg and Ambah O'Brien designed we need to turn our attention to making sure that folks at the show are able to have a good selection of gradient sets - and of course other yarn! - to pick from.

As a result, we are placing all six of the sets that I developed for On the Spice Market and Torquata on a lengthy pre-order. This is something we have never done before, and is not something I really like doing, but there is only so much time we have before we head to the fairgrounds in Howard County, MD.

We are indicating that we will ship these sets by May 20. Hopefully, some orders will ship before that date, but we just can't guarantee that.

Yarn hanging to dry

What else is happening this week?

  • Lara Smoot loves Game of Thrones (as do I) and has designed a wonderful shawl using our Edge of Reality Gradient Set. This pattern will be available tomorrow - Friday, April 15. We designed two more gradient sets for this and we are offering them on Caroline.
  • The Miss Babs Knitting Tour heads out to its first destination of the year! Yay!!! Traveling to parts unknown!
