May Musings
Babs Ausherman
As always each year seems to fly by faster and faster.  And here we are in May already, it seems like it was just January and February.  I was counting days in my life (multiplying actually) and realized that given how many days I have already lived, I should have this thing figured out and be more graceful and effective and smooth and...wwll you get the picture.  I still have good days and bad days just like everyone else. I am happy that the irises are blooming and the pileated... Read More
April Showers...

Bring May Flowers! Our next show is Maryland Sheep and Wool, held the first weekend of May - May 3 and 4 on the Howard County Fairgrounds in West Friendship, Maryland. If you have never been, it's a great show with lots of vendors and LOTS of critters!  Generally beautiful spring weather and a great time is had by all. I absolutely love this show! The sights and smells are fun to experience. One of my favorite things, when I wasn't a vendor, was watching the Sheep to Shawl event... Read More
September - Here She Comes!!
Babs Ausherman
In just two days, September will be here.  It always marked the true end of summer to me, even though the days were often still hot, the light had already begun to shift and the days were getting ever so slightly shorter. When I was a kid, summer lasted forever, now it seems like it is two weeks long.  How did I miss vacation time?... Read More
Daylilies in the Garden

The Flower Garden
Babs Ausherman
Last year in August, we headed off to do what we call our Midwest Tour.  We head to Stitches Midwest in Schaumburg, Il and then a week later we are at Michigan Fiber Festival in Allegan, MI.   When we left, I knew that some drainage work was going to be done which would include needing to dig across one of the four tiers of my flower garden.  When I came home, three of the four tiers was covered up by clay dirt and to nicely finish it off, a... End of May - Getting Ready for June
Babs
Planting needs to happen! I need to get the rest of the tomato plants in, and all of the flowers I bought last week at Susan's.  Susan is a member of my fiber guild. Plus I have a knockout rose that I need to put in.  I like to have real flowers at my shows and this one is Stitches South.  It was loaded with blooms.  I need to get the dead blooms cut off and get it into the ground! Jen, one of the gals who works with me - she... Read More
