So, this is what it's like. A year without an in-person Rhinebeck. But for all the things we'll miss (donuts, foliage, livestock, friends), there are some silver linings.
The first? Virtual Rhinebeck is longer! Yes, the show runs Thursday (Oct. 15) through Sunday (Oct. 18). To participate, you first need to register to get into the show. This gives you access to all the vendors' "live" booth sessions, classes, and 1:1 meetups. Of course, our website is open 24/7 for shopping, but we'll also be "live" in our booth from 3pm-4pm on Thursday and Friday, and 11am-12pm on Saturday and Sunday. You can also request 1:1 meetups for other time slots.
A longer show means more goodies! This year we're highlighting several show specials--TWO showcolorways, some apparel, a brand new limited edition yarn base, a sale on knitting needles, and free shipping on all orders for the duration of the show.
NEW COLORWAY(S):
The moment you've been waiting for...the show colorways are:
Our first colorway is Virtual Iris: Speckles and washes of cool blues and purples create a calm and beautiful effect on the yarn and in your project. There may be occasional flecks of red on some yarns, which are considered part of the colorway.
Both are available on all our bases, and we can't wait to see what sort of projects you all make with them.
Jennifer introduces this year's colorways in our YouTube video:
NEW T-SHIRTS
If you're a Miss Babs fan, we've got a t-shirt for you. Screenprinted in three colors on soft, 100%-cotton American Apparel Fine Jersey Short-Sleeve unisex tees, our new shirts feature our iris logo and the text "noun | ardent admirer or enthusiast of yarns inspired by nature". In the group photos, staff members Cindy, Alex, and Jennifer (L-R) are wearing sizes 3XL, Medium, and Large respectively. The shirts are available in dove gray and soft blue. We also have new canvas totes that match the shirts!
NEW YARN: We are also introducing our newest base: Sonatina. Available for a limited time only, Sonatina is a soft and lofty fingering weight yarn in a superwash Merino wool and nylon blend. We think Sonatina will be a good choice for accessories with techniques like textured stitch patterns, brioche knitting, and stranded or mosaic colorwork. Sonatina is 390 yards and 100g per skein, and $22.
Of course it wouldn't be Rhinebeck without some specials, and we've got two: 10% off all our needles (so you can start more projects, of course) and FREE First Class USA shipping (and discounted international shipping, too) for the duration of the show (October 15-18, 2020).
And it definitely wouldn't be Rhinebeck without a Rhinebeck sweater. Jennifer interviews some kind but shy volunteers in our little video:
Thanks for watching!
P.S. If you're missing the donuts, maybe an apple cider donut CAKE is up your alley. Veronica has made this recipe a few years running and it's been a tasty treat.

I really missed seeing the yarns in person and your friendly staff. My apple season is mostly brown and some red not at all like the beige with a little red and green sprinkles I had seen in photo. It’s still beautiful and I’m knitting it into a cowl but it’s not what I would have chosen in person. I’m so hopeful next year we can go to shows! Thank you for all your efforts at keeping us going virtually this year.
