Forest Walk Sweater

Designed by Helen Kennedy

This sweater pattern was inspired by Helen Kennedy's love of dog walking through the woods near my home. The stitch pattern reminds her of the deep forest of trees providing shelter and respite from the chilly fall breeze. The drop shoulder construction makes it suitable for all body types and the gentle A-Line shaping allows for a little extra room across the hip, giving a comfortable and flattering fit. It is sure to become one of your favourite everyday sweaters. The body of the sweater is worked from the bottom up in one piece, with some seaming at the shoulders for extra structure. As you transition from the pattern, a simple short row allows you to knit (not purl) in the round, a technique that makes this sweater a breeze to make.
