Lalia

Designed by Susanna IC

Lily-of-the-Valley is one of Susanna's favorite Estonian lace patterns. Lalia combines this beautiful lace motif with simple garter stitch for an easy and quick-to-knit project. The shawl is worked in one piece from a few cast on stitches, and increases are worked along one edge shaping it into a modern asymmetric triangle. In keeping with the tradition, nupps are worked along one edge and their placement is included in the charts. The nupps are optional and can be easily replaced with beads, or the shawl can be worked without any adornment, making this project suitable for the first-time lace knitter.
