Weftovers Scarf - PDF Weaving Pattern

Weftovers! If you are a weaver, or a knitter, you have a variety of leftover little bits of yarn! What can you do with it? Don’t worry that the colors don’t match....that it’s not all the same....that some of it is long, some is short! This scarf will free you and embolden you and use up a lot of leftovers!

There is no way to know what the actual colors were, as they were collected over
a period of time, and from different people working in the studio...This really was about leftovers from a variety of studio activities and is meant to be an exercise in color play.

This pattern is written for a rigid heddle loom at 12 epi.

Yarn Requirements:
Miss Babs Yummy 2-Ply (100% superwash merino wool; 400 yards/4 oz 365m/115g)
For both warp and weft: choose an assortment of colors, the more the better. In the sample scarf, some warp colors used about 36 yards, some 12 yards. For the weft, you can use any length of yarn that will give you approximately 4 picks: 20”/50cm and up. The largest woven section of one color is about 16 picks, or 11’/3.3m in length.
The finished scarf used approximately 330 yards in the warp and 280 yards in the weft.

Finished Measurements:
8” / 20cm wide x 86” / 215cm long (without fringe)
