The Wellig pattern was designed by Katrin Schubert. Our sample was knit in Miss Babs Yowza Minis in the Wellig-Warm and Wellig-Cool colorways. The Warm set includes the colors Suspense, Bruin, Dark Parchment, Mahogany, Muslin, and Dark Adobe; the Cool set includes the colors Polished Stone, Lapis, Ripples, Chanterelle, Deer Moss, and Rainforest.
Katrin's inspiration for this pattern came from the beautifully chosen colors of the Yowza Minis. I decided to use six colors for a large, feminine wrap. The pattern has no purl stitches and (almost) nothing to count, making it perfect for beginners and newbies. The shawl is worked in stripes, ordered from light to dark, with the last stripe combining multiple colors. The Wellig pattern is easy to memorize after the first repeat, and it is so much fun to knit and to wear. If you want an even larger shawl, feel free to add more colors.
You can purchase the pattern for Wellig directly from the designer on Ravelry. All patterns are sold separately and not included with the purchase of yarn.
