Q: What will we be making?
A: In 2017, our projects will include knitted neck accessories such as cowls and shawls. The projects are intended to be at an advanced beginner to intermediate knitting level and require a variety of skills. If you're a newer knitter, these projects will stretch and build your skills.
Q: When can I purchase a spot on the Knitting Tour?
A: The Ticket Window will be open from Monday, December 12, 2016 at 7 a.m. EST to Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 5 p.m. EST, and then Sunday, January 1, 2017 at 12 noon EST to mid-February (or until memberships are sold out).
Q: What if my address changes during the Knitting Tour?
A: Please send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with your both your old and new shipping address so we can update your account.
Q: Can I buy just part of the Knitting Tour? How do installment payments work?
A: No, the Knitting Tour is a package deal and includes four shipments. You may choose to PAY in two installments. The first payment will hold your spot on the Tour, and the second payment completes your purchase. An additional administrative fee is added to the installment payments. The second payment is due in mid-February and we will email you a payment reminder.
Q: How will you keep me informed about the Knitting Tour?
A: We will communicate primarily via email, although we will also post updates to our Ravelry group. Please ensure that you’ve given us an email address that you check regularly, as shipping notices, pattern update information, and any other necessary announcements will arrive via email. If you use Ravelry, we will also add your Knitting Tour patterns to your Ravelry library.
Q: How do I buy the Knitting Tour as a gift?
A: We collect shipping and contact information in a special form we will send by email after you purchase a ticket. Once you receive the form, you can fill it out with the recipient’s details.
Q: What if I don't like the pattern included with the shipment?
A: Feel free to knit whatever you like with the yarn! We would much rather you finish a project you love than knit something you don't like.
Q: Can I return a kit if I don’t like it?
A: We aren’t able to accept returns for Knitting Tour kits. The kit is exclusive to Travelers for 6 months, and it wouldn’t be fair if we made unwanted kits available to the general public. However, there are often people who want more of a particular Tour yarn, or who weren’t able to join the Tour this year who will happily purchase your kit.
Q: Can I exchange a Knitting Tour yarn?
A: The color included in each kit is carefully created with the destination in mind. Because it is exclusive to the club for 6 months, we cannot accept returns or exchanges on club yarns.
Q: Is extra yarn available?
A: A limited number of additional skeins are generally available from each shipment. If you’d like to purchase additional yarn, please email us.
Q: Is yarn winding available?
A: No, we're sorry, yarn winding is not available for Tour packages.
Q: There’s a raffle ticket in my package. What’s that for?
A: Be sure to keep your tickets in a safe place! One lucky traveler, chosen randomly, will win a free membership to next year’s Knitting Tour.
Q: Help, part of my package is missing or something else is wrong!
