We had fun with our Rhinebeck sweaters but we decided smaller projects were a better idea for November! Hats are great small projects that go quickly and are also wonderful for holiday gifts. With all the hustle and bustle around the studio this past month, we've still managed to whip up a big stack of hats. Here's a bunch of hats the studio crew made...
Standouts: we made lots of Sockhead Hats because they're perfect easy knitting for variegated skeins; Jen designed the long stocking cap with the tassel (pattern coming soon); Call Me Al was fabulous in velvety Kunlun and the Simple Slouchy Hat was super-speedy in K2.
And I got a little carried away and made a bunch of hats, too. Pompoms are back and I think the favorite hat I made is From Norway With Love - bright hearts plus an enormous, ridiculous pompom. I like to call it the happiest hat in the world!
Participants in our Ravelry group also made a ton of great hats and if you haven't checked them out, you should! Here's a cool little Ravelry tip if you don't spend a lot of time in the forums: at the top of every thread there's a series of links. See the one that says "52 patterns" next to the red sweater? Click that "52" and you can see all the hat patterns that everyone linked to in the thread... there's some good inspiration there.
For December, we're hosting a finish-along on our Ravelry group. We're focusing on getting all kinds of projects finished before the end of the year. Maybe you have gifts to work on or just that sweater that’s been waiting for the final touches! In any case, we'd love to have you join us and show off what you've been working on.
