Our Core Values

Our Philosophy

Miss Babs’ philosophy and core principles (taken from our Employee Manual):

Miss Babs Hand-Dyed Yarn & Fibers was created as a home-based business, founded on the core principle of respect - respect for each other, and respect for our customers. Over the last decade we have grown and expanded our team and our products to over 20 yarns in more than 500 colors. Our success depends on the continued support of our customers, and we love being part of their creativity.

We strive to create an environment where hard work and fair play are appreciated and rewarded. Each employee brings value to our team, our products, and our customers. We work hard to continue our success.

Miss Babs prohibits discrimination or harassment based on race, color, religion, creed, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, body shape, national origin, age, disability, marital status, veteran status or other status protected by applicable law. Each individual has the right to work in a professional atmosphere that promotes equal employment opportunities and is free from discriminatory practices without limitation.

Our Mission

At Miss Babs, our mission is, and has always been, to provide a quality product at a fair price for all of our customers. Our goal is for our customers to enjoy their projects and be successful.

We will continue providing beautiful yarns, fibers, and accessories that our customers will enjoy using. In turn, this supports our studio, where we aim to continue to provide a supportive and family-like atmosphere for each member of Team Babs.

Our Values

Our company values include being respectful and kind to one another, providing beauty and joy to people, and creating a warm and supportive space in our workplace, our online spaces, and in our physical spaces at shows. We believe that everyone deserves to be treated with respect and compassion. We value hard work, authenticity, and honesty.

On Inclusion and Diversity in our Community

Hatred is unacceptable. It is evil, and ugly, and hurtful. We believe that it is our responsibility to see, support, and protect vulnerable members of our community in our words and in our actions and behavior. We believe all should be welcome and respected in our shared passion for creativity.

We will continue to work to make Miss Babs a respectful, welcoming and safe space for all, full of creative inspiration. All who are welcoming are welcome here. The biggest honor is when you share your creations with us.

We value each and every one of you as a part of our larger community, and will continue to strive for all to feel welcome here. It is our sincere desire that no one feels excluded because of race, sexuality, gender identity, level of physical ability, or body shape in our workplace, at our shows, or in our online community. We will not tolerate behavior or speech that is hateful or intolerant in our workplace, online, or at shows.

While we can’t be perfect, we’re trying to always grow in our knowledge and understanding. As we grow and learn, we expect to make changes as we assess and revisit our policies in the interest of inclusion.
