2026's First Featured Designer, Paola Albergamo

Paola wearing the Wild Rosehips shawlWe’ve been collaborating with Paola since 2023, providing yarn for her innovative and beautiful designs including Wild Rosehips (above), Fiordifelce, Mosaicoscope, and more. It’s been a delight seeing what she has come up with, combining color and texture in new ways. As she says - “If you knit to discover, if you get bored halfway through vanilla patterns, then you’re in the right place.”

With three upcoming patterns in our yarns, we’d love to invite you to knit along with us (on Ravelry and Instagram) on any of Paola’s designs in Miss Babs yarns, now through the end of April. We’ll have prizes for finishers!

You can also join Paola and the Miss Babs team live on Zoom for some meetups and knitting time! Our first meetup will be on January 31, 2026, at 11am Eastern time.

You can register for the first Zoom here: https://us02web.zoom.us/meeting/register/5tC2OzrbRP2Z03Wu7BAiUg

Paola’s next pattern, Radura, will be released this Saturday, January 24. Be sure to sign up for her newsletter to be notified when the pattern is available.

Radura is knit in two contrasting skeins of soft and luxurious merino-cashmere-nylon Caroline, and we have put together some duos of new colorways for you.

What will you make? From mitts and cowls to shawls and even sweaters, Paola has designed a wide range of patterns to choose from.

We’ve gathered our patterns and yarns:

Helen is making Wild Rosehips in Muscadine Grapes Yearning and Wheaten Moonglow.

Julia is making Battigia in Avon in Sparkling Sand, Hijinx, and Cosmic Dust.

Ivy is making Radianza in Slate Damask.

Veronica is making Moon in Red in Yummy 2-Ply, in Pitch, Valiant Grapes, and Tea Time Frenzy.

Babs is making Colosseo Quadrato in Yummy 2-Ply Toes in Watering Can and Sea Teal.

We’ve put sets together for the other patterns that Paola has designed in our yarns - you can browse them all here.

We can’t wait to introduce you to more of Paola’s work - stay tuned!
