Summertime! and Our Vacation is Over!

Back to the studio after our week off!! Many of us went to the beach with family, some of us went to the mountains with friends, and some of us did the Staycation.  It sounds like we all had a pretty good time, got rested and relaxed!

And now! It's time to start getting ready for SSK over in Nashville, TN in mid-July and Stitches Midwest in Schaumburg, IL in early August!!  Come see us!  We'll be doing some new things and have some new colors and project ideas which we will reveal as we get closer!

In the meantime, let's do a giveaway!  The giveaway is one skein of Hot Shot! Color is winner's choice!  Leave a comment about what summer knitting you are doing (or not doing) here on the blog by midnight PST on June 23.  We'd love it of you can include the name of the pattern, 'cause we like to know what people are knitting!

Edited to Add: I've just emailed the winner. Congratulations, Chanda! We hope you enjoy your Hot Shot!

I’m knitting a hoodie for one of my sons, a colorwork sweater for the other son, an afghan for my grandson, and socks for myself.

This summer I’m doing Kirsten Kapur’s 2015 Knit-A-Long. It’s my first time doing a KAL, my first provisional cast on, and my first lace project! Definitely fulfills this year’s goal to learn something new with every cast on. :)

My knitting doesn’t really change much over the summer – I’m too addicted to slow down for hot weather. Right now I’m working on a shawl design in progress, a Tunisian crochet project, a pair of socks that are sort of in timeout, and a Hitchhiker.

Just finishing Point of View, then will go back and bind off a Derek’s Cowl. After that I have promised myself that I WILL start working on the pile of items waiting to be blocked or otherwise finished.

I an knitting a cotton/linen version of a shawl I made recently- The Linda Scarf. The pattern was written by the owner of my LYS. It’s really fun to knit! It’s not on Ravelry so I can’t link it, but encouraged the designer to put it up! ?

I just finished a Spearmint Tea shawl using Yummy 2-ply Toes gradient set. I’m calling it “Grape Tea” since my set is purples. Now, I’m using the rest of it to make a Honeycomb Mesh Scarf. Hopefully, I’ll finish that this week and start over on my Maeva socks. I broke my size 0 needle and had to get a new one. This time I’m using a metal needle and not wood!

I just this afternoon bound off Fantoosh, which I originally picked because of it’s name! Love saying Fantoosh! But it has won me over in style now, also. Tonight I will cast on The Ripple Stole by Jenise Reid. Both patterns are from Ravelry.
