Hi and Happy New Year!

Happy New Year! If we haven’t met yet, I thought I’d take this opportunity to introduce myself as the new owner of Miss Babs Yarns. My name is Ivy Campbell and I grew up here in the mountains of western North Carolina/east Tennessee on my family’s apple orchard. I enjoy hiking, birds, gardening, and spending time with my dogs.

So how did I get here? I attended the Blue Ridge Fiber Guild with my mom (an accomplished fiber artist and feltmaker) from about the age of 9 - which was where I first met Babs, many years ago!

Over the years, I’ve done a little of everything in the fiber arts, from historical re-enactment spinning, to contemporary felting, plus of course knitting, crocheting, and a little weaving and beadwork. These days I primarily dye yarn, but I can always find a little time to knit.

I joined the Miss Babs team back in 2013 when I was in college. After graduation, I started full-time and became Babs’ apprentice at the dye tables. I have been dyeing yarn for about 10 years now.

I am grateful for Babs’ leadership and guidance over the years, as well as the skill and expertise of our hard-working team in the studio - together, we make it all happen!

Some of our recent colorways have been developed collaboratively between Babs and myself, like Land of the Sky and Iris Jubilee. I also created XO for 2025’s SSK gathering, as well as all the colorways for our Inspired Adventures design with Lesley Anne Robinson.

We are making lots of plans for 2026 and beyond. I look forward to continuing to dye and develop colorways full-time, while also getting to meet you here online and in person at many events soon.
