We're excited for this year's Maryland Sheep & Wool Festival! This year, the festival is May 3-4. Visit us in the back of the Main Exhibition Hall on the Howard County Fairgrounds in West Friendship, Maryland. Get all the information you need on visiting the festival here!
We do our best to bring your favorites, but as you know, it just can't all fit in the booth. Preview what we're bringing to the show, and make sure you're signed up for our email newsletter so you don't miss our online show specials, too!
Here's what's coming to the show...
Yummy 2-Ply and Gradient Sets: our most popular yarn is this versatile fingering weight superwash Merino. We'll have a huge rainbow of colors for you!
We'll have lots of Yowza and Yowza Minis, of course. Our DK superwash Merino comes in two skein sizes (560 and 200 yards) for all your sweater and accessory projects.
Killington is our favorite sweater yarn! A non-superwash DK-weight blend of Polwarth wool and silk, it's lofty, soft, holds its shape, and takes color beautifully because of the silk.
Damask is an excellent choice for warm-weather tops and accessories. This blend of silk and linen has lighter colors than our wool yarns. It's easier on the hands than a pure linen, and softens into a fluid fabric that will help you keep cool.
Yet is a long-time favorite that we'd love for you to try. It's a heavy lace weight blend of non-superwash Merino and silk with a lofty twist that's easy to work with. It's great for lace patterns, but it's also a great secret substitute into fingering weight patterns - they'll come out just a little lighter, and at $18 for a 400-yard skein, more economically, too.
Sets for Lisa K. Ross's MKALs: Lisa will be at the show this year and we have curated a selection of sets in Yummy 2-Ply for her popular summer MKALs like Garden Variety and Wings of Wonder.
Then there's Katahdin. We love the big 16-ounce, 1750-yard skeins (and we love to see you hold them like a yarn baby). We love how rich and deep the colors are on the BFL fiber. This smooth, strong, light fingering weight yarn is great for sweaters, shawls, and more. We'll also have our 437-yard skeins!
Tarte is sleek, glossy, smooth, and surprisingly hardwearing. We love it in socks, shawls, and tops.
Estrellita makes your stitches sparkle with a ply of silvery Lurex running alongside the superwash Merino. Use it for any fingering weight projects that need a flash of glam!
Sojourn is something special, a truly luxurious blend of cashmere and silk that you have to touch.
Festival Specials! We'll have two show colorways both mornings of the show (always a surprise until the day of the festival, but we are having lots of throwback fun this year). We will have a NEW exclusive colorway from Junction Fiber Mill in their color-changing Making Tracks Lite yarn, with new designs from the Miss Babs team.
