My Knitting....
Babs
Babs here: Well, I am an erratic knitter.  By that I mean I start a lot of projects and don't finish them.  That means I have about 10 socks still on needles, a sweater on needles, a scarf or two that are about half done.  I often call myself a serial starter.  But why do I do this??  My justification is that I need to see how a colorway knits up, or test a yarn and see how I like knitting it.  But honestly the cabinet and shelves littered with... Last Few Days Before SAFF, 2009
Babs
Well, I promised a few pictures of what we have been doing out in the studio. This doesn't show everything, by any means....but here we go! Piles and stacks of yarn and fiber that haven't been hung up yet on racks. Hanging will start in earnest today. We have to move some stuff out of the studio before we can do that though and iit was just too cold yesterday to open the doors of the studio and let the outside come in and the inside go out. Hopefully today... Read More
Lately....
Babs
I have been getting ready for Sock Summit, filling some wholesale orders, and generally busy as the major show season is ahead of me at this point. We go to Portland in 3 weeks or so, to Chicago a month later, and then Asheville/SAFF five weeks after that. So life has been busy and will only get busier until the middle of November. Lots to do. But thankfully the daylilies are blooming. There are lots of orange daylilies. [caption id="attachment_98" align="aligncenter" width="300" ] [/caption] I especially love this daylily. I... Read More
End of May - Getting Ready for June
Babs
Planting needs to happen! I need to get the rest of the tomato plants in, and all of the flowers I bought last week at Susan's.  Susan is a member of my fiber guild. Plus I have a knockout rose that I need to put in.  I like to have real flowers at my shows and this one is Stitches South.  It was loaded with blooms.  I need to get the dead blooms cut off and get it into the ground! Jen, one of the gals who works with me - she... Read More
Spinning Green Kettle-Dyed Fiber!!
Babs
Well, I am not sure if you realize it or not, but I LOVE the color green!  I dyed this fiber about a month ago, right before Stitches South.  I thought I would spin some for socks.  This may take me awhile, but I thought you might like to see how it spins and knits up. Here is a picture of the top before I started doing anything to it. BFL stands for Blue Face Leicester, which is a breed of sheep. Late Spring Use of the Woodstove
Babs
What a Way to Treat a Woodstove! At the end of spring, I had a bunch of yarns that needed a resting spot to do that last bit of drying - and the woodstove came in handy! I think it looks great dressed up this way! These are some cotton and rayon yarns that will be coming soon to the website. Read More
