Rock Sparrow - Avon - Babette

The rock sparrow is a small European sparrow with soft buff and brown coloring. Our Rock Sparrow colorway echoes the bird's plumage and eggs with a creamy buff base speckled with shades of brown and dark gray. The overall look will be a warm neutral with gentle variations.

This colorway is a Babette: every skein and every batch is a bit different, but Babs has a method of recreating these artistic colorways. The photograph is an example of representative skeins from this colorway; the skein you receive may differ somewhat. This yarn is speckled: it has a tonal-colored background shade peppered with small dark specks and spots of dye. Each skein is different in terms of speckle distribution and placement. We will do our best to choose multiple skeins that coordinate well.

Avon

Avon is a light fingering weight blend of fine Merino wool and silk that will flow smoothly through your hands for beautiful accessory and garment projects. Avon is a slightly finer yarn than our Yummy 2-Ply, and is soft with a gentle sheen from the silk.

Content: 85% 19.5 micron Merino wool, 15% silk
Gauge: Light fingering weight. 8-10 stitches per inch knit on US 0-2, 7-8 stitches per inch crocheted on US A-D.
