Land of the Sky - Katahdin 437 - Babette

"Land of the Sky" is an old nickname for Asheville, NC. We've combined some of our favorite wine reds and purples with a touch of deep green in this variegated colorway.

Through November 11, 2024, we'll donate 50% of our sales of Land of the Sky to Beloved Asheville, in support of local recovery efforts from Hurricane Helene.

This colorway is a Babette: every skein and every batch is a bit different, but Babs has a method of recreating these artistic colorways. The photograph is an example of representative skeins from this colorway; the skein you receive may differ somewhat. Katahdin 437

A lighter fingering weight than our Yummy 2-Ply, Katahdin 437 is spun from the long, lustrous wool of Bluefaced Leicester sheep. BFL is a perfect canvas for Babs’ colors, giving the yarn a rich depth and slightly glossy finish. It's great for durable, fine-gauge socks, and lovely in crisp lacy shawlettes.

Size: 437 yd / 3.5 oz (400m / 100g) skeins
Content: 100% superwash Bluefaced Leicester wool
Gauge: Light fingering weight. 8-10 stitches per inch knit on US 0-2, 7-8 stitches per inch crocheted on US A-D.
Care Instructions: Machine wash gentle, dry flat.
