The Aire pattern was designed by Kirsten-Michele. Our sample was knit in Miss Babs Killington in the Sweet Jubilee Grapes colorway.
Aire is a cropped cardigan using traditional Gansey elements in a flattering contemporary style. It is a seamless top-down yoke cardigan which is knit flat. There are short rows at the back of the neckline to create a comfortable fit, and then there are pine trees worked in purl stitches around the yoke, followed by a string of bamboo stitching. The remaining yoke, body and sleeves feature zigzags and diamonds created with purl stitches, as well as small cables. There is optional waist and hip shaping, and the hem and cuffs are finished off with ribbing. The front of the cardigan has button bands that are worked in ribbing and has 6 buttons.
You'll need 3-5 skeins (1010-1600 yards) of Killington to complete this project. Choose the original colorway below − or try another color!
The Aire pattern is available on Ravelry. All patterns are sold separately and not included with the purchase of yarn.
