Breiwick

Designed by Kirsten-Michele

Breiwick is a top-down seamless yoke sweater that has been inspired by the stranded colorwork found in the southernmost tip of the Shetland Islands, Fair Isle. The motif follows the classic design principles of Fair Isle knitting, for example, there are never more than 2 colors worked in one round, and there are strong diagonals created by alternating X’s and O’s, called OXO’s. Breiwick reflects the trend found in the 1960’s and 70’s where the colorwork was worked in the yoke only.
