When I first developed the desire to combine colorwork with lace I went on line to research how to do it, eager to learn a new technique. But all of my searches came up empty, it wasn’t something that was done. I could have left it at that, taken no for an answer but instead I began dreaming up ways to make it happen. This is how mosaic lace came to be. This pattern features a stylized representation of wings meant to evoke the lazy W you drew as a child dreaming and doodling. They frame a very simple mosaic lace motif that will easily introduce you to this fun technique.
You'll need two skeins of Yummy 2-Ply, or another fingering weight yarn (one of each color), to complete this project. For best results, choose two colors with good contrast.
