Summertime! and Our Vacation is Over!

Babs Ausherman

Back to the studio after our week off!! Many of us went to the beach with family, some of us went to the mountains with friends, and some of us did the Staycation.  It sounds like we all had a pretty good time, got rested and relaxed!

And now! It's time to start getting ready for SSK over in Nashville, TN in mid-July and Stitches Midwest in Schaumburg, IL in early August!!  Come see us!  We'll be doing some new things and have some new colors and project ideas which we will reveal as we get closer!

In the meantime, let's do a giveaway!  The giveaway is one skein of Hot Shot! Color is winner's choice!  Leave a comment about what summer knitting you are doing (or not doing) here on the blog by midnight PST on June 23.  We'd love it of you can include the name of the pattern, 'cause we like to know what people are knitting!

Edited to Add: I've just emailed the winner. Congratulations, Chanda! We hope you enjoy your Hot Shot!

I’m halfway through a mkal shawl from a LYS. I’m also trying to finish UFOs so every Friday (aka “UFO Friday”), I pick up one long-neglected project and work on it. Right now it’s a lacy pullover from the Spring/Summer 2008 Vogue Knitting. Almost done with the back!

I’m working on Hitchhiker in some hand dyed cotton. Next up is a fall hat in Yowza!

I have knit four Yowza3 shawls that I am delivering to people I love while visiting various places in the NE. Two more to go. I love it in Berlin, Deep Sea Jellyfish, Soul Food, and deciding my next one from my Yowza stash.

I’m currently making a Kismet tank top for my daughter and a Walk Along for myself. I love that variegated yarn in the second picture!

I’m well into my second Yowza Shawl #3 by Susan Anderson, using Yowza Volcanic Eruption. Also just started a Boneyard Shawl (Stephen West) for a travel project in CaterpillarGreen Shawl Stripe Yarn in Peacock. And in the background I’m searching for just the right project for the 2 skeins of Yummy 2 in Bluebonnet. Can’t wait to see how that makes up.

I am working on a Boneyard in my lawn chair at softball/baseball games, Rill Scarf at home when I can concentrate, and chicken hotpads from a YouTube video for my chicken mamma friend because for some reason they are relaxing. One of my summer highlights is spending lots of time in the always crowded Miss Babs booth at Stitches Midwest.
