Summertime! and Our Vacation is Over!

Babs Ausherman

Back to the studio after our week off!! Many of us went to the beach with family, some of us went to the mountains with friends, and some of us did the Staycation.  It sounds like we all had a pretty good time, got rested and relaxed!

And now! It's time to start getting ready for SSK over in Nashville, TN in mid-July and Stitches Midwest in Schaumburg, IL in early August!!  Come see us!  We'll be doing some new things and have some new colors and project ideas which we will reveal as we get closer!

In the meantime, let's do a giveaway!  The giveaway is one skein of Hot Shot! Color is winner's choice!  Leave a comment about what summer knitting you are doing (or not doing) here on the blog by midnight PST on June 23.  We'd love it of you can include the name of the pattern, 'cause we like to know what people are knitting!

Edited to Add: I've just emailed the winner. Congratulations, Chanda! We hope you enjoy your Hot Shot!

I’m currently finishing up an Amy Herzog Custom Fit Vest vest with stash yarns, and a pair of fish lips heel socks in Coffee Break (my husband’s favorite Babs color way). The socks are destined for him, the vest for me.
Once those are done, I’ll likely cast on a Cookie A sock to travel around this summer with.
Glad you all had a wonderful vacation- you all work SO hard the rest is well deserved!!!!

I’m working on gifts for my old high school friends and their families…making my mom a poncho…making something for me for the first time ever (a chevron scarf made with recycled cashmere yarn)….and learning how to do fair isle. Good times!

I am finishing up a pair of sock and then starting on my first sweater.

I am finishing up a Reverb shawl by Sweet Georgia, and next will be warping my loom with a matched Miss Babs semi-solid and a babbette in Yett for a lightweight summer plaid scarf!!!! Weaving is cooler than knitting in swampy summer heat!

I’m currently working on an Aeris shawl in Neighborhood Fibre Co, as well as a Fly Away Blanket in Quince and Yoth Big Brother!

I’ve been hard at work on my first circular pi shawl. It’s so portable that I’ve been working on out everywhere.

I have a skein of Yummy and I am looking for just the right shawl pattern for a shower gift!

Working on my fifth Brickless ! Love , love, love this pattern. Would recommend it to any level of knitter, even beginner. Get to know your stitches. This pattern keeps your interest and isn’t boring. Especially using Yowza. Colors are delightful.
