Like the iridescence in a starling's dark feathers, Starling is black with a plum undertone. If you're combining colors, Starling works well with warmer shades. For a cool blue-based black, try Blackbird; for a more neutral shade, try Obsidian or Ebony.

The generous yardage means Big Silk is great for big cowls, shawls, and scarves - one skein is enough for most worsted-weight accessory projects. Gauge: Worsted weight. 4-5 stitches per inch knit on US 7-9, 3-4 stitches per inch crocheted on US I-K.
