Named for Ansel Adams’ iconic black and white photography style. Black dots and dashes appear over the natural undyed cream of the yarn. Sometimes Ansel has lots of black, sometimes very little.

This colorway is a Babette: every skein and every batch is a bit different, but Babs has a method of recreating these artistic colorways. The photograph is an example of representative skeins from this colorway; the skein you receive may differ somewhat.

This colorway is also highly variable, so feel free to give us a call for a current description of what we have, or if you have any questions about the color.

Katahdin 437

A lighter fingering weight than our Yummy 2-Ply, Katahdin 437 (formerly known as Northumbria Fingering - it is exactly the same yarn) is spun from the long, lustrous wool of Bluefaced Leicester sheep. BFL is a perfect canvas for Babs’ colors, giving the yarn a rich depth and slightly glossy finish. It's great for durable, fine-gauge socks, and lovely in crisp lacy shawlettes.

Size: 437 yd / 3.5 oz (400m / 100g) skeins
Content: 100% superwash Bluefaced Leicester wool
Gauge: Fingering weight. 8-10 stitches per inch on US 0-2.
Care Instructions: Machine wash gentle, dry flat.
