I’ve been having so much fun with this stitch pattern that I couldn’t resist making a hat to match my cowls. For the sample hat I paired a strongly variegated contrast color with a nicely contrasting solid, and I love how each window turned out different–just like the inside of every window in a high rise would give you a view into a different room.

85% Polwarth wool, 15% Tussah silk; 350 yd/4.2 oz (320 m/120 g) skeins
1 skein in main color, shown in McHale’s, 1 skein contrast color, shown in Ziggy Stardust

Or 120 (140, 160) yards/110 (128, 146) meters of DK weight yarn in main color and 35 (40, 45) yards/32 (37, 41) meters of DK weight yarn in contrast color.
